Andrea Rebolledo (Birla Carbon Spain)
2005 – Draftswoman
2019 – Responsible for all Capital Investment Projects in Spain
Yesterday was my 14th anniversary at Birla Carbon Spain (BCS) and that made me think about how quickly time goes by… If I had to summarize in a few words my career in the company so far, I would definitely say “personal and professional growth”. I started as a draftswoman in 2005, and now I am responsible for all capital investment projects at BCS.
Birla Carbon has enabled me to develop my career as engineer, giving me the opportunity of explore different operational areas in a very challenging way. I think this HR management approach is very important to “keep alive the flame”, to maintain enthusiasm and make the most of your capabilities.
Sometimes your job can become a ‘shelter’ if you are facing tough times… From a positive point of view, this may mean you feel comfortable and ‘safe’ at your workplace. I have shared very good moments with my colleagues that helped me to overcome some difficult moments in life.
I think our values are reflected in the decisions we make, which necessarily must be always aligned with our purpose in life. Otherwise, we would not be able to achieve personal plenitude. Although my core values are not exactly the values of the c ompany, I feel very comfortable and aligned with them. I would not be able to work for a company which values were not aligned with mine.
More than talking about how BC has satisfied my aspirations, I would like to reflect on what BC can offer me from now on. I think BC, and more extensively ABG, gives you the opportunity to develop your career in a multi-cultural environment and enrich your professional and personal life.
